We use what is known as the 5 Council Fire Wampum Belt representative of 5 Clan Council Fires and our Territories in what is known today as Southern Ontario. We currently are using this as this is the Territory our lead organizers are from. Logo may change as we grow.

WHO WE ARE

Anishinaabek Clans to Invoke our Nation (ACTION) is a Grand Council Fire made up of Autonomous Clan Council Fires exercising our inherent rights to uphold our responsibilities to our clans, tribes, territories, ancestors and future generations.

Our mandate is to support the reestablishing of Autonomous Clan Council Fires throughout our Territories.  We are headquartered in so called Southern Georgian Bay on the Chippewa Tri Council Territories.

Our Initiatives include; Confederacy Meetings; Inherent Rights Representation;  Food Security/Sovereignty; Self Sufficiency; Climate Change Advocacy; MMIWG2S Advocacy; Art Projects, Land and Water Protection. 

National Organizing Committee  

We are growing and welcome other passionate volunteers to help us carry out ACTION's Constitution, initiatives and projects. We are also in the process of establishing a separate non-profit organization with a charitable status that will have a board of directors made up of our core committee members. National Coordinator

Johnny Hawke

Responsible for Organizing this Grand Collective in all aspects.

​

Johnny Hawke​ is of the Gchimnissing Anishinabek Community, Negik Clan Territory aka, Beausoleil First Nation, Christian Island, On.

 

Hawke has a Print and Broadcast Journalist Diploma and has committed 15 Years on the Frontlines across Turtle island in defence of Water, Land and Rights and is Educated in law. He is also an Artist, Musician and of the Atik Clan.

Womens Council Fire Coordinator

 Robyn Eshkibok

​Responsibilities are to help organize Grandmothers and Women from our Member Territories. This is our Law. The Women.

​

Robyn Eshkibok was born and raised in Baawaating and is from Wiikemkoong and Ketegaunseebee First Nations.

​​

She served in Iraq and is Veteran of the U.S Marine Corps as helps with our Warrior Society Organizing.

​

She is an advocate of Tax Reform on Indigenous Urban Areas and Women Advocacy, Homelessness.​​

Headmen Council Fire Coordinator

Ernie Cobiness

Responsibilities to organize Headmen from Each Territory for our Governing Council.​​

​

Anishinabek Atik Clan from Buffalo Point First Nation in so called Manitoba is following in his fathers footsteps in the art world. Self taught and heavily influenced by his late father, Eddy Cobiness, one of the original Indigenous Group of Seven Artists.

​

Ernie has Years of Frontline Experience with our Ogitchida Warrior Society, Ceremony life and Grassroots circles.  He is also a Hunter and Trapper.

Shkawbewis Coordinator

 Cheryl Yurkowski

This Position is responsible for Volunteers, Community Outreach, Alliance Building, Recruitment and Communications to Promote our Work.

​

​Cheryl Yurkowski is an Anishinabeg of so called Treaty 4 member of Minegoziibe (Pine Creek), Manitoba. She grew up in the Kawartha Lakes area of so called Ontario.

​

​Miss. Yurkowski is an independant model, researcher, truth seeker, de-occultist and anarchist. She has worked with alternative media such as We Are Change as an investigative journalist, editor and digital content creator.

Legal Dept Coordinator

 Daniel Tamblyn-Watts

This Role is our Legal Department Head to provide all Legal Issues and to create our own Indigenous Tribal Courts under our Clan Tribal Law and Jurisdiction.

Language/Culture Coordinator

Perry Bebamash

Our Language and Cultural Resource lead. To help us conduct ourselves via Teachings and Ceremony and Language.​

Perry Bebamash, Ojibwe-Anishinaabe from M'Chigeeng on Manitoulin Island.

 

The Anishinaabe Nation has always had meetings to deal with things and make decisions together and we must continue to do so.

 

The Clans of the Anishinaabe were and are very important in this process, it is good to know for sure what your spiritual clan is. I am related to ancestors such as Bemigwaneshkang and Niibaakom and share knowledge of our history, way of life and language.

Youth Council Coordinator

Triton Hawke

Responsible for Creating a National Youth Council for ACTION, our Member Communities to represent the Youth and give them a voice for their issues on our Grand Governing Council.

Tryton Hawke is 17 years old from Gchimnissing Anishinabek and is Atik Clan

Food Security Coordinator

Travis Charles Assance 

 Food Security Initiative to 

organize our Communities to help use our larger territories for hunting, fishing, medicine gathering and all harvesting and Land Use Strategies to create Hunting Camps throughout our Territories.

​

Travis Charles-Assance is Negik Clan and is of Herditary Lineage of Chief John Aisance and resides on Georgina Island First Nation as works as a Ferry Captain
